Sleep is Europe’s hotel design, development and architecture event.
The hotel design event took place at the Business Design Centre between 22-23 November. It was a great opportunity for us to explore the latest products and finishes in the hospitality industry. The aim of our visit was to meet suppliers, see what is trending in the hotel design industry and most importantly get inspired. We explored the hall during one afternoon and came across a few interesting feature lighting and furniture pieces.
Even though the main focus of the event is hotel design, we were hoping for a bit more in terms of materials, finishes and surface textures and fewer beds and mattresses. There were a few suppliers this year providing bespoke lighting and furniture services which is no surprise as the industry is moving towards more customisable and ‘tailor made’ solutions.
Natural materials and finishes whether real or simulated were widely seen throughout the show to accompany the trend of appreciating craftsmanship and details.
In short the hotel design event was worth spending a few hours to browse at if you are in the trade!
